It’s lockdown in London and Ashley longs for the holiday in Venice she and her best friend Juliet had to cancel. Then on a webcam on an empty Venetian square she sees a lone man with a dog. Ashley has just escaped a bad relationship so falling for a complete stranger she can’t even see properly isn’t a great idea but where’s the harm in dreaming? Only when Ash and Jules get to Venice at last things don’t work out exactly the way she expected – not least because the one who is right is sometimes the one you didn’t realise was there all the time. Coincidentally in Venice is a joyous celebration of love, best friends, vintage clothes to die for, Prosecco and spaghetti alle vongole. Oh, and not to mention a stolen gondola, a dog called Killer, ten thousand fictitious virgins and an old Grateful Dead t-shirt. Contemporary romcom.
